DISABILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Mission Statement

The Disability Advisory Committee (DAC) within the SCDD serves as an accessibility resource for all employees with disabilities. The DAC assists the Executive Director of SCDD and the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Office to create and maintain a workplace for all individuals to have equal and fair employment access and opportunity.

Vision Statement

The DAC’s goal is to ensure that employees with disabilities are integrated and included in the SCDD workforce. The DAC promotes disability awareness and equal opportunities for all SCDD employees.

Upcoming DAC Meetings

Meetings are held every second Wednesday of the month from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM over Zoom.

    • SCDD DAC will continue to publish quarterly DAC Newsletters and distribute the SCDD DAC Brochure.

Online Disability Survey

One of the ways to determine the status of our efforts is to ensure equal opportunities and collect accurate and current statistical information on the representation of SCDD’s employees with disabilities.  The information collected in the survey is used only to provide SCDD an overview of its success rate in hiring individuals with disabilities and to facilitate the development of programs and resources utilized in the hire, retention and promotion of individuals with disabilities.

To assist SCDD and the DAC in its efforts, the California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) has created a voluntary automated online disability survey. The online disability survey allows employees to self-identify a disability, which is convenient, easy to use and confidential. This online survey only takes about one minute to fill out. Thank you for your participation. To access the survey, click on the following link: https://exams.spb.ca.gov/disability/DisabilityForm.cfm?dept=FQ00
